UP Special TET 2026 Recruitment Notification Released
The Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Sewa Chayan Ayog (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has announced the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET), 2026, under Advertisement No. 03/2026. This recruitment is for teachers currently serving at the Primary and Upper Primary levels in Uttar Pradesh, and also for approximately 2,500 Special Teachers/Assistant Teachers (CWSN).
The Supreme Court has made the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) mandatory for all teachers. Serving teachers must clear this test by 31 August 2028. To comply with this order, UPESSC is conducting this Special TET.

Who Can Apply for UP Special TET 2026?
The UP Special TET 2026 is open to the following candidates:
- Serving Primary and Upper Primary Level Teachers: Teachers working in schools run by the State Government, local bodies, or schools affiliated/recognized by the State Government/Basic Shiksha Parishad, and receiving aid from the State Government.
- Special Educators (CWSN): Approximately 2,500 Special Teachers/Assistant Teachers (CWSN) at the Primary and Upper Primary levels.
Mandatory Eligibility for Serving Teachers:
- Primary Level (Class 1 to 5): All serving teachers in Primary-level schools are eligible.
- Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8): All serving teachers in Upper Primary/Junior High School-level schools are eligible.
Mandatory Eligibility for Special Teachers (CWSN):
- Primary Level (Class 1–5): Must have passed Graduation and an RCI-recognised D.Ed Special Education or equivalent. Must hold an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.
- Upper Primary Level (Class 6–8): Must have passed Graduation and an RCI-recognised B.Ed Special Education or equivalent. Must hold an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.
UPESSC Special TET 2026 Age Limit
The age limit for Special Educators serving on a contract/deliverables basis is a maximum of 60 years as of the exam date (3 November 2026).
